The Panama and the Canal Stereographs digital collection includes hundreds of stereograph images from the Panama Canal Museum Collection at the University of Florida that relate to the Panama Canal, the Canal Zone, and the Republic of Panama. Stereograph images consist of two nearly identical photographs taken from slightly different perspectives and printed side-by-side on cards. When viewed through a stereoscope viewer, the stereographs create an illusion of a single three-dimensional image. The images below attempt to reproduce this effect by combining the two frames in each stereograph in a single animated image. Click on each image to see the stereograph images.
